Bieszczady

Bieszczady,

Over a week ago, I began the summer Milky Way photography ✨ season in Poland. Taking advantage of the excellent weather conditions, I headed to the Bieszczady Mountains — a region that has long drawn me in with its dark skies, peace, and outstanding conditions for night photography. 🌌 🎯 The goal of this trip was to capture my first frames of the summer sky and return to one of the best stargazing locations in Poland. 🌙 I spent one night in Lutowiska and the second near Wetlina — one of the darkest areas in the Bieszczady Mountains. ⛰️ 🔭 The surroundings of Wetlina and Lutowiska once again showed why the Bieszczady Mountains are such a special place for astronomy and astrophotography enthusiasts.

The Canary Islands

Canary Islands, Spain

The Canary Islands 🌋 are a destination I had wanted to revisit for a long time. Only recently did circumstances allow me to return to this remarkable place. 🌌 The main goal of the trip was, of course, night sky photography. Over several intense days, my friends and I drove across nearly the entire island of Tenerife, and then spent a few days on La Palma — an island that has long held a special fascination for me. 🌬️ I consider the trip a success, despite the challenging conditions. For most of the time, we battled strong winds and clouds, and halfway through our stay the Calima — Saharan dust — arrived, further reducing atmospheric clarity and disrupting some of our plans. 📷 In the end, however, I managed to bring back a few photographs. I hope you enjoy them.

Stargazing in Tatras

Tatras, Poland

The night in one of the darknest places in Poland - Tatra's was an incredible experience. Together with Marzena Rogozińska and Jarek Cmk , we trekked over 20 km through the Tatra Mountains at night in classic winter conditions. Crampons on our boots, heavy 15 kg backpacks, and snow and ice underfoot. ❄️ 🌌 The first night offered nearly perfect conditions—clear, starry skies and excellent atmospheric transparency, despite some gear issues, including a tripod failure. ☁️ The second night was significantly more challenging, as we battled clouds and shifting visibility. On both nights, brief breaks were spent quickly warming our hands with a cup of hot tea ☕ before heading back to the tripods.

Namibia

Hakos, Namibia

The southern sky is something else entirely. In May 2025, I had the chance to visit Hakos in Namibia—and from the very first night, I was hooked. The place, the silence, and above all, the sky. Under pristine Bortle 1 conditions, the night sky felt almost unreal—dense with stars, deep, and incredibly alive. Most of the trip was spent on a farm, which meant I didn’t get many opportunities for classic landscape shots with the Milky Way. Instead, I focused on deep-sky imaging—capturing faint nebulae and distant structures hidden within the darkness. No regrets, though. If anything, it just gave me a perfect reason to start planning the next trip to this beautiful place 🙂

Beyond the
Atmosphere.

I work as a software developer, but my true passion has always been the night sky.

Since childhood, I have been captivated by the universe, a fascination that has evolved into a dedicated pursuit of astrophotography. I spend my free time observing and capturing celestial events, where patience and persistence allow me to document phenomena like the Aurora Borealis, solar eclipses, and meteor showers. While I explore various aspects of the cosmos, I am most fascinated by night landscapes and the art of timelapse photography.

My work has gained international recognition and has been featured on prestigious platforms, including:

  • APOD (Instagram) and SKY
  • AAPOD2 (Image of the Day and Image of the Month)
  • Astrobin (Top Pick and Image of the Day)
  • Astrophotography Prize (Top 5 Finalist)
